Flohr-Carsten

Professor Carsten Flohr
St John’s Institute of Dermatology, King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, UK

Carsten Flohr holds the Chair in Dermatology and Population Health Science at King’s College London.

He has a particular interest in novel methods of atopic dermatitis (AD) prevention (early life risk factors) and therapeutics, especially in severe AD, as well as the link between AD and allergic diseases.

CF was Chief Investigator of the landmark UK-Irish TREatment of severe eczema in children Trial (TREAT), which compared cyclosporine with methotrexate in children with recalcitrant AD. He also co-led the Enquiring About Tolerance (EAT) study and is Chief Investigator of the UK-Irish Atopic Eczema Systemic Therapy Register (A-STAR). CF also directs the Global Atopic Dermatitis Atlas (GADA).

He is a Founding Director of the International Eczema Council and Past President of the British Society of Paediatric Dermatology.

CF has published in the Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature and is the Founding Editor of the Evidence-Based Dermatology Section of the British Journal of Dermatology.

Jones-Chrissie

Professor Christina Jones
Professor of Clinical Health Psychology University of Surrey, UK

Chrissie is a Professor in Clinical Health Psychology, Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Chrissie is the Associate Head of Research & Innovation and Research Excellence Lead for the School of Psychology at the University of Surrey. Prior to joining the University of Surrey, Chrissie spent 12 years at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School starting out in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, before moving to the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Chrissie’s main research focuses on the design and evaluation of psychological and behavioural interventions for individuals and their families, with long term conditions with specific expertise in asthma and allergy and mental health comorbidities, placing strong emphasis on involving patients and public in the research she undertakes. Chrissie has expertise in multi-method evaluations and synthesising current evidence using systematic reviews and meta-analysis.

Torres-Maria

Dr Prof Maria Torres
Full Professor and Head of Allergy Services
University of Malaga and Malaga Regional University Hospital, Spain

President of EAACI, Head of the Allergology Service at the Regional University Hospital of Málaga, Lead Researcher of the Allergy Research Group at IBIMA-BIONAND, and Professor of Medicine and Dermatology at the University of Málaga.

Her current research focuses on drug and allergen allergy and immunotherapy. She has participated as Principal Investigator in 22 competitive projects at regional, national, and European levels (most recently awarded in 2023), and was coordinator of the Spanish network ARADyAL (Asthma, Adverse Drug Reactions, and Allergy), funded by ISCIII. She has supervised 20 doctoral theses and 19 undergraduate final projects. Additionally, she holds 9 patents—one of them licensed by Diater Laboratories—and is a founding partner of the technology-based company Bioherent. She also serves as Associate Editor of the journal Allergy (Impact Factor 12.4, second in the field of Allergology, D1) and as a member of the Experts Committee of the EMA.

Professor Carina Venter
Professor of Pediatrics, University of Colorado/Children’s Hospital Colorado, USA

Carina Venter is a Professor of Pediatrics, Section of Allergy/Immunology at the Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, where she is conducting research in allergy prevention and food allergy treatment. Clinically, she consults children with food allergies. Dr. Venter is the chair of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) work group on Immunomodulation and nutrition.

Dr Anagnostou is Professor of Pediatrics, in the Allergy & Immunology Division, at Texas

Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She currently serves as

Director of Allergy and Food Therapeutics. She is also Lead for the Adolescent Transition

Program for Allergy. Dr Anagnostou is passionate about investigating new and innovative

therapies for food allergy. She is the PI for multiple research trials on food allergy therapy and

anaphylaxis. She is also leading research projects on food allergy prevention, food-induced

anaphylaxis, the microbiome and shared decision-making. Dr Anagnostou serves as the Chair of the Food Allergy Committee at the ACAAI. She has previously served as the Chair of the Adverse Reactions to Foods Committee at the AAAAI. She is also a member of the Practice, Diagnostics and Therapeutics Committee and the Anaphylaxis Committee at the AAAAI. Dr Anagnostou obtained her PhD from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom and her dissertation focused on two research trials of Peanut Oral Immunotherapy in children. Her research work was published in The Lancet and received international recognition.

Dr Luz Fonacier

Dr. Luz Fonacier is Professor of Medicine at New York University (NYU)-Long Island School of Medicine. She is Head of Allergy and Training Program Director in the institution. She completed residencies in Dermatology and Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology in New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, and a fellowship in Dermal Immunology at NYU Medical Center. Dr Fonacier was president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (the first Asian American) and chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (the first to hold both positions simultaneously). She is the recipient of numerous awards and lectureships including the 2024 ACAAI Gold Headed Cane Award, 2024 ACAAI Distinguish Fellow Award; 2022 and 1998 Presidential Award of the Asian Pacific Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the Edward J. O’Connell Lectureship, ARTrust™ AAAAI Lectureship, ACAAI John P. McGovern lectureship, ACAAI Jean A. Chapman Memorial Lectureship, and ACAAI “Women in Allergy Award”. She is the first honorary Fellow of the Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She has published 20 textbook chapters and over100 journal articles. Because of her training in dermatology, allergy and immunology, her special interest is the dermatologic manifestations of allergic diseases.

Saeki,-Hidehisa

Professor Hidehisa Saeki

Prof. Saeki is a world-renowned scientist and dermatologist. He received his M.D. from University of Tokyo in 1991 and had grown to be a scientist and a key leader in skin disease research including atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. He is a Professor and Chairman, Department of Dermatology, Nippon Medical School from 2014. He is one of the pioneers in chemokine research in the skin and has made substantial contribution to mechanisms of skin diseases. He is the first one to identify the key role of secondary lymphoid-tissue chemokine (SLC/CCL21) and CC chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) in the emigration pathway of mature dendritic cells from the skin to regional lymph nodes. He is also the first one to reveal that the serum level of thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC/CCL17) is a useful disease activity marker for atopic dermatitis. He has published 455 papers including papers in Nature Genet, Med, J Allergy Clin Immunol, and J Am Acad Dermatol.

Watanabe,-Yuko

Dr Yuko Watanabe
Lecturer Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan

Dr. Yuko Watanabe received her M.D. from Akita University in 2004 and entered the Department of Dermatology at Yokohama City University in 2006 after completing her residency. She obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Immuno-Dermatology from Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine in 2016, subsequently served as Assistant Professor, and has been a Lecturer in the same department since 2022.

Her clinical and research interests focus on drug eruptions, particularly severe cutaneous adverse reactions such as Stevens–Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). She has worked on both basic and clinical studies, including investigations of immunological mechanisms, biomarkers, and diagnostic approaches. She has also been involved in national guideline activities, including the 2025 revision of the Japanese guidelines for the management of SJS/TEN.

In addition, Dr. Watanabe has clinical experience in the management of psoriasis, with research interests that include systemic inflammation and metabolic disorders. She aims to connect immunological findings with clinical practice and continues to contribute to both basic and translational research to support evidence-based care in dermatology.

Nakagome,-Kazuyuki

Professor Kazuyuki Nagakome
Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine, Allergy Center, Saitama Medical University, Japan

Professor Kazuyuki Nakagome is professor of Department of Respiratory Medicine and Allergy Center, Saitama Medical University, Japan. He received his M.D. from Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Medicine in 1996 and subsequently undertook clinical training in anesthesiology, internal medicine, and allergy at leading hospitals in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Yamanashi. In 2005, he was awarded a Ph.D. in Medical Science from the University of Tokyo, where his doctoral thesis focused on the role of T cells in the development of airway hyperresponsiveness.

Following his doctoral training, Professor Nakagome continued his clinical and academic career in allergy and respiratory medicine at the University of Tokyo before joining Saitama Medical University. He was appointed Lecturer in 2008, and after a period as a Visiting Assistant Scientist in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI (2011–2013), he returned to Saitama Medical University, becoming Associate Professor in 2017 and Professor in 2023.

Professor Nakagome’s research interests center on the immunological mechanisms of asthma and allergic diseases, with a particular focus on T cell biology, airway inflammation, and allergen immunotherapy. He is actively involved in clinical practice, education, and international collaborations.

Ewan,-Pam

Dr Pamela Ewan
Consultant Allergist, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK

Pamela Ewan set up and developed the Allergy Department in Cambridge, which became a nationally recognised specialist centre. She is a Consultant Allergist, Cambridge University Hospitals and Associate Lecturer in the University of Cambridge Clinical School.

She is an international expert in allergy: with a clinical and research track record. Special interests are nut allergy, allergy during general anaesthesia, bee and wasp venom allergy, and anaphylaxis.

With Dr Andrew Clark, she developed an effective oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy, and co-founded Camallergy.

Pam contributed nationally to the development of allergy services and standards of care. With Sir Stephen Holgate, she co-founded then chaired the National Allergy Strategy Group. She led the campaign to highlight the need to improve national allergy services, work which led to a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2007 and a Special Award from BSACI in 2022. Pam is a past president of BSACI.

Dr Amanda Cox
Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe Food Allergy Institute, Serena and John Liew Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, USA

Dr. Amanda Cox is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where she has worked since 2008. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and serves on the Adverse Reactions to Foods and Anaphylaxis Committees, co-chairs the Credentialing Committee and is the Vice Chair of the Continuing Certification and Professional Education Committee. She also serves on the executive board of the New York Allergy and Asthma Society and served as the society’s president in 2016. Dr. Cox received her B.A. from Columbia University in New York, and her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center (now Northwell Health) also in New York. Throughout her career, Dr. Cox has been involved in the specialized clinical care of children with food allergies and is now involved in clincal trials and clinical research for food allergy therapeutics.

Dr Ricardo Madrigal is a Consultant Allergist serving at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, London. He specialises in drug hypersensitivity. Secretary of WAO’s Drug Hypersensitivity Reactions Committee, member of BSACI’s SOCC and UK’s Perioperative Allergy Network. He is an AAAAI fellow, prolific researcher, journal reviewer/editor, and educator.

Dr Mo Shamji
Professor of Immunology and Allergy, Imperial College London, UK

Professor Mohamed Shamji is a renowned expert in allergy and clinical immunology, specialising in type 2 inflammation and immune tolerance in conditions such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, and food allergies. After completing his Clinical Scientist training in London and earning a PhD from Imperial College London, he founded the Immunomodulation and Tolerance research group. His work spans fundamental research, translational studies, and data science. His team has made significant discoveries related to immunotherapy biomarkers and mechanisms, including Tregs, ILC2s, and Bregs. Additionally, he has led or contributed to numerous clinical trials involving innovative therapies. With over 15,362 citations and publications in leading scientific journals, his research is well-funded by major academic and industry sources. Dr. Shamji currently serves as Secretary-General of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and is also the President-Elect of the organisation. He holds multiple editorial and leadership roles within international allergy organisations. His groundbreaking contributions have been recognised with prestigious awards such as the PhARF and Aeda. He is also a sought-after speaker at major global conferences.

Prof Philippe Eigenmann
Head Pediatric Allergy Unit, University Hospitals of Geneva, CH

Philippe Eigenmann is a pediatrician and allergist trained in Switzerland and in the USA (Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore). He is currently head of Pediatric Allergy at the University Hospitals of Geneva Switzerland. His main focus of research is food allergy with several ongoing studies focusing on early-life events of allergy, as well as on food allergy diagnosis. He has published over 200 articles in international scientific journals. Since January 2018, he is editor-in-Chief of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, the world leading journal in the field, and in the Editorial Board of Allergy. In addition to his scientific activity, he has been the chair of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) section on Pediatrics from and president of the Swiss Society for Allergy and Immunology. He is also secretary of the EAACI-Clemens von Pirquet Foundation, a European foundation promoting research and education in pediatric allergy and immunology.

Alessandro Fiocchi MD is the Director of Allergy at the Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù, Rome, Vatican City. Since 2001, he has organized international meetings in Italy, U.S.A., Thailand, Argentina, and other countries.  Author of the WAO DRACMA guidelines on cow’s milk allergy in 2010, he inspired the GLAD-p guidelines on allergy prevention by probiotics (2015), prebiotics (2016), Vitamin D (2017). Since 2014 he serves as Editor-in-chief of the World Allergy Organization Journal. He leads the Food Allergy Committee at WAO for 2025-26 – 2023. He did organize the first virtual WISC on July 16th – 18th, 2020. Under his chairmanship, the WAO DRACMA guidelines are being re-edited.
